A female doctor was brutally murdered in Kolkata’s RG Medical College and Hospital. Ever since this case has come to light, everyone is filled with anger. People are protesting on the streets for justice. Now many Bollywood celebs have also reacted to this.
Alia Bhatt shared a post in which she wrote – Another brutal rape.
Another day of realization that women are not safe, anywhere.
Another horrific atrocity to remind us that it’s been over a decade since the Nirbhaya tragedy, but still nothing much has changed
Ayushmann Khurrana shared a video reacting to this case in which he read an emotional poem written by himself, titled ‘Kaash Main Bhi Ladka Hoti’
Kareena Kapoor also shared a post reacting in which she is comparing this case with the Nirbhaya case that happened 12 years ago. Kareena writes- 12 years later, the same story, the same protest. But we are still waiting for change. 💔
Hrithik Roshan writes on social media platform X – Yes we need to evolve into a society where we ALL feel equally safe. But that is going to take decades. It’s going to hopefully happen with sensitizing and empowering our sons and daughters. The next generations will be better. We will get there. Eventually. But what in the interim? Right now justice would be to put a hard stop to such atrocities. And the only way to do that is a punishment so harsh that it scares the living daylights out of such perpetrators. That’s what we need. Perhaps?
I stand with the victim’s family in seeking justice for their daughter and I stand with all the Doctors that were attacked last night.
Director Zoya Akhtar wrote- still waiting on the day all women can be independent and safe 💔
Parneeti Chopra says- If its too difficult for you to read, imagine what it was for HER!
Disgusting. Horrific. Hang him by his b**!!
Actress Sara Ali Khan writes- justice for women🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Vijay Verma also reacted and wrote- At the least.. Protect our
protectors🙏🏻
It is clear from Preeti Zinta’s post that she is very emotional and she writes – We are the fifth-largest economy in the world. This election both male and female voter turnout was about 66% with women voters predicted to overtake the male voters in the next election.
It’s time WOMEN’S SAFETY is PRIORITIZED by the government. It’s heartbreaking & disgusting to see a rapist’s face hidden/covered when arrested, while victims of rape & violent sexual crime have their names and faces leaked in the media. Justice is never swift, punishment is never severe & people are never held accountable.
Preeti further writes- So many women lose their dignity and their lives, and it never really matters, unless it happens to you.
It’s time ALL WOMEN STAND TOGETHER and make WOMEN’S SAFETY A POLITICAL ISSUE. It’s time people in charge don’t get transferred for covering up/badly handling a case of sexual violence, but lose their jobs instead.
As a woman, I want to say I’m sorry to Nirbhaya, to Moumita & to every girl that has been wronged. I’M SORRY I didn’t fight hard enough for you in the past.
BUT NOT ANYMORE!
NONE OF US ARE SAFE UNTIL ALL OF US ARE SAFE!
Many celebs joined the protest
Apart from Bollywood, many celebs were seen demanding justice, including Mimi Chakraborty, Riddhi Sen, Arindam Sil and Madhumita Sarkar, and many Bengali celebs came out on the streets to protest.
