There is only a few days left in voting for the Assembly elections in Haryana. The last round of election campaign is going on vigorously in the entire state. BJP is roaming Article 370 and Pakistan in its rallies. This is the reason that the removal of most of the provisions of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir remains the main issue among the people of Haryana, especially in Northern Haryana. The army soldiers are happy about this decision of the Modi government in this area and through this the BJP is looking strong in the area.
The same region played an important role in 2014 when the BJP gained power at the Center. The BJP won 22 of the 27 seats in northern Haryana in 2014, independents on three and Congress and INLD on one each.
Congress state president Kumari Selja has been a two-time MP from Ambala but the party’s ‘Tigers’ – Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have not held any rally in the region so far. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said during PM Modi’s rally in Kurukshetra that Haryana will be particularly benefited by the removal of article 370 as 10 percent of the soldiers from the state join the army and many in Jammu and Kashmir because of 370 Have been martyred.
