Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is doing very well in theatres. 26 days after its release, its earnings remain strong, demonstrating its tremendous popularity. The film has now come remarkably close to breaking the worldwide box office record currently held by ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. By its 25th day, the film had grossed ₹1,712.98 crore globally; it now requires less than ₹30 crore to surpass the existing record.
Still Trailing in India, But Momentum Intact
However, in terms of both ticket sales and domestic earnings, Dhurandhar 2 currently trails behind Pushpa 2. To date, the film has sold 1.71 crore tickets, whereas Pushpa 2 had sold 1.92 crore tickets. Domestically, Pushpa 2 had earned ₹1,234.10 crore, while Dhurandhar 2 has so far reached a total of ₹1,083.67 crore. This means that in the domestic market, the film is still lagging behind by approximately ₹150 crore. While the film’s dominance is clearly evident in the Hindi belt, its foothold in the South has remained somewhat weaker.
Conversely, Dhurandhar 2 has created a sensation in international markets. The film has earned ₹415.50 crore from overseas markets, which is much higher than the ₹259.50 crore collected by Pushpa 2. This strong performance outside India has helped the film cover up the gap it had in domestic earnings. Because of this big advantage internationally, the film is now very close to breaking the all-time record.
