Indian actor, writer, director, and theatre performer Dhaniram Prajapati has achieved a significant international milestone with the screening of the American feature film A Mosquito in the Ear at the 41st Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) 2026 in California, USA.
Originally from Kariha Kala village in Unchehara, Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, Dhaniram continues to expand his artistic journey beyond Indian cinema. The film, directed by American filmmaker Nico Rinchiari, features actors Jack Lacy and Nazneen Contractor in leading roles, while Dhaniram appears as Pio, a taxi driver. The screening took place on February 5, 2026, as part of the prestigious festival that commenced on February 4 and presented a diverse selection of acclaimed films from across the globe.
Describing the experience as a turning point in his career, Dhaniram expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work in an international production. He shared that being part of a Hollywood project had long been a personal aspiration and credited his mentors and supporters for their continued encouragement. He also acknowledged the casting team, especially Paresh, for recognizing his potential and introducing him to the American creative team.
Over the years, Dhaniram Prajapati has built a strong presence in Indian cinema and theatre. He has worked alongside prominent actors such as Manoj Bajpayee, Ajay Devgn, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav.
