Darren Barnet is an American television and movie actor, who became famous worldwide after his role as Paxton Hall Yoshida in the Netflix series “Never Have I Ever” in 2020.

EARLY LIFE

Darren was born on 27 April 1991 in Los Angeles, California. He was the second child in the family having two sisters [ Jennifer Barnet(elder) and Emily Brady(younger)]. He shifted to the suburbs of Orlando, Florida with his mother when he was 12 years old. He completed his schooling at Dr. Phillips High School in 2009. In 2013, he got his Bachelor of Arts degree from Berry College, where he acted in plays and short films.

CAREER

Since childhood, Darren Barnet wanted to become an actor. After graduating, he returned to his hometown to pursue his passion for acting. In 2017, Barren made his acting debut in the television show “This is Us” where he had an episodic role. In the same year, he also played roles in “S.W.A.T.” and “Criminal Minds”. In 2019, Barren made his Netflix debut with an episodic role in the sitcom “Family Reunion.

But he became the teenage heartthrob of all around the world with his role as “Paxton Hall-Yoshida” who was the crush of Devi Vishwakumar and the most popular guy in their school. Both Darren and the series received positive reviews from the critics and garnered plenty of loving attention from fans for his role on the show. Because of his emerging popularity, in April 2022 he also became the first male brand ambassador for Victoria’s Secret PINK collection. He also became the ambassador of the brand’s “Gender Free” collection.

He started dating Mikaela Hoover, his co-star from “Love Hard” and made their Instagram debut as a couple in April 2021. They took a trip to the Global Wildlife Center in May 2021, which both of them shared on their Instagram handles. In August 2021, the couple made their red carpet debut for the premiere of “The Suicide Squad,” in which Hoover starred as Camilla. But after their last photo together in October 2021, they stopped posting pictures with each another.
