Storyline – Chakki is a film that explores the trials and tribulations of a small town flour mill owner named Vijay as he navigates through life, love, hope, aspirations, and dreams. The film does this through the eyes of its protagonist. After receiving a hefty bill for his flour mill in the amount of 1.5 Lakh, his life, which appeared to be going along swimmingly, is turned upside down.
Vijay gets caught in a figurative and literal endless loop, also known as a “chakki,” that exemplifies the inefficiency that is characteristic of the government as he tries to get his bill corrected. Because of the incompetence of the bureaucracy and the systemic apathy of the officials, he is forced to take a desperate step that is illegal, which ultimately lands him in an even bigger legal trouble, putting his family’s status and love life in jeopardy. The officials are completely unsympathetic and parasitic, and they are trying to squeeze him for any kind of money.
