UPSC examination is one of the most competitive exams in India, in which lakhs of aspirants appear and try clear on the very first attempt. The IAS syllabus is very challenging and highly unpredictable as well. Staying updated on Current Affairs through Newspapers and Government Resources

 Most questions in this examination are based on the current affairs of India and the world. Leading Newspapers and various government websites such as PRS, PIB and programs aired on Rajya Sabha TV are the preferred sources of staying updated on current affairs. Also, Economic & Political Weekly, Kurukshetra, and Yojana are a few magazines that offer varied information on India’s economy, agriculture, polity and governance, which the aspirants should read regularly.

Extra Focus on UPSC Interview

The UPSC examination also has an interview round over and above the two written examinations. Therefore, to successfully clear the UPSC examination, the candidates must pass the Prelims and Mains (the two written examinations) and the interview round. In addition, the candidates are assessed on communication skills, responsiveness during stress, diplomatic traits, presence of mind and other personality traits. The candidates should develop these skills and be prepared to face the panel of distinguished interviewers. 

Apart from academic knowledge, the candidate’s personality is also given importance. Also, they must be well prepared to share information related to their education, professional profile, hobbies and passions.
