Vishal Veeru Devgan or the one we better recognize as Ajay Devgn today is a Bollywood movie actor, director, and producer. He is massively popular in the country and has worked in over a century of movies.
Personal Life
Born on 2nd April 1969, Devgan hails from Amritsar in present-day Punjab. His father Veeru Devgan was an action director. He completed his graduation from Mithibai College, Mumbai where he became friends with one of his most popular co-actresses, Tabu.
Currently, he is married to Bollywood actress Kajol and the couple has two children, Nysa and Yug born in 2003 and 2010 respectively. Ajay Devgan altered his surname to Devgan for traditional purposes.
Debut and Fleeting Career
In 1991, Vishal became Ajay because, then, many other actors were debuting in the industry who shared the same name.
Devgan’s maiden film in the industry was Phool Aur Kaante in 1991. He became famous for his signature move of balancing between two vehicles. Further hit flicks included Jigar(1992), Sangram(1993), Dilwale(1994), Diljale(1996), and Kachche Dhaage(1999). He received applause for his impeccable portrayal in Zakhm(1998), Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam(1999), Company(2002), Deewangee(2002), and The Legend of Bhagat Singh(2002). For the latter movies, he even got National Awards and critics called him one of the finest actors who spoke through his eyes.

Venture into Comedy and further success
After having experimented with Golmaal Fun Unlimited(2006) and trying his bid at comedy, he went on to unite with Rohit Shetty on a variety of action-comedy movies including Golmaal Returns(2008), All the Stylish Fun Begins(2009), Golmaal 3(2010), Singham(2011), Bol Bachchan(2012), Singham Returns(2014), and Golmaal Again(2017).
His highest-grossing movies include Total Dhamaal(2019) and Tanhaji(2020).
Ajay was last seen in the Gangubai Kathiawadi in 2022 as Rahim Lala, a character inspired by gangster Karim Lala.
