About – (Sushmita Sen) Following her tenure as Miss Universe, Sen began a career in the entertainment industry. 1996 marked the release of her debut film, Dastak, in which she played the role of a victim of a stalker, who was portrayed by Sharad Kapoor. Mukul Dev played the main role in the production. After that, she had a role in the Tamil action film Ratchagan, which was released in 1997. Her performance as Rupali in the comedy film Biwi No.1 directed by David Dhawan earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1999.
This award was given out two years later. The movie “Biwi No.1” finished the year 1999 as the second highest-grossing film overall. In the same year, she received another nomination in the same category for the role that she played in the drama Sirf Tum. She made an appearance in the year 2000 in a dance song for the movie Fiza.
