A fire broke out in a pharma company’s factory in Atchutapuram, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. 17 people died and about 33 people were injured in the accident. Anakapalle District Magistrate Vijay Krishnan said that the incident took place around 2:00 pm at the plant of Escientia Advanced Sciences Private Limited. Let us tell you that a total of 381 employees worked in the factory. Work was done here in two shifts. The explosion occurred during the afternoon interval so there were less workers there.
How did the accident happen
This incident occurred due to the explosion of the reactor in the factory. 33 injured people have been admitted to hospitals in Anakapalle and atchutapuram. 13 workers trapped in the factory were rescued but unfortunately 17 people died. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the deaths. The Chief Minister assured the families of the deceased workers that the government will stand by them in this tragic time, an official press release said.
Prime Minister expressed grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over this horrific accident and announced compensation for the affected people. A compensation of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the families of those killed in this accident. Apart from this, a compensation of ₹ 50000 will be given to the injured people. PM Modi said on social media, “I am saddened by the death of people in the accident at the factory in Anakapalle. I express my condolences to those who lost their loved ones and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.
