China’s official newspaper Global Times has conducted a survey. The people of India have been consulted on the relationship between India and China in the survey. Nearly 2000 people from ten major cities of China participated in it. Questions were asked about India’s image in the survey, tensions on the border in recent times, boycott of Chinese goods in India, and US intervention in the relationship of the two countries.
It found that 51 percent of the people liked the Modi government, while 90 percent of the people justified the military action against India. The news that liked the Modi government was on the page of Global Times till Thursday afternoon. But that part was lifted after noon. However, part of the survey that Global Times has tweeted is still a matter of liking the Modi government.
Not only this, it has also been found in the survey that 70 percent of the people believe that India is more hostile towards China and the steps taken by the Chinese government in the past, support it.
If India provokes China even in the future and tensions rise along the border, then 90 percent of the people participating in the survey believe that retaliation from China is right. But about 26 percent of the people see India as a good neighbor. These people see India at number four in China’s ‘Most Favorite Nation’. Russia, Pakistan and Japan give place on the first three.
However, in the list of good neighbors, the people of China placed India above South Korea. It has been found in this survey that 56 percent people have good knowledge about India in China.
This result of the survey has also surprised the director of CICIR’s South Asia Study. Talking about the results, he told the Global Times that this is also possible because ‘people to people contacts’ are good in both countries.
