Former Australian skipper Ian Chappell has appealed to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to ban the switch hit shot. He said this shot is highly unfair to the bowler and fielding team.
While interacting with the Wide World of Sports Chappell said,”Maxwell and Warner made several such shots in the second match,” . If a batsman changes his hand or leg before the ball falls, it should be given an illegal shot. The bowler has to tell the umpire how he will put the ball, if the batsman is of the right hand, the captain sets the field in the same way and then suddenly he goes with the left hand, this is wrong. I don’t understand why bowlers don’t complain about it.
