Now the flight trials of Tejas aircraft and Astra missile are planned in the next few months.

The indigenous ‘Astra’ missile, which is air-to-air, is about 3.8 meters long and 7 inches wide. The weight of the missile is 154 kg. This powerful indigenous missile is designed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). It is made entirely of indigenous technology.

The specialty of Astra missile is that this missile can attack accurately in any weather. It is capable of accurately attacking enemy up to a maximum distance of 100 km. Sources have also claimed that DRDO is also making ‘Astra’ missile that can strike a distance of 350 km. It will be named ‘Astra’ mark-3.
