The controversy surrounding comedian Praneet More’s stand-up show in Gurugram has grown bigger. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken notice of the viral “₹370 Biryani” video and issued notices to Praneet More and Himanshu Jangra. A hearing in the case is scheduled for June 22.
The NCW expressed concern over the content of the video and asked Haryana Police to take quick action and submit a report within seven days. Meanwhile, another old video from Praneet More’s show also went viral. In the clip, MBBS student Sejal Pawar made remarks about donated bodies used for medical studies, which sparked strong criticism online.
The All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) called the comments insensitive and disrespectful, saying body donors play an important role in medical education. After the backlash, Sejal apologized and admitted her mistake.
The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has now registered an FIR against Praneet More, Himanshu Jangra, Sejal Pawar, and others over alleged objectionable remarks. Meanwhile, following the controversy, Himanshu Jangra was also fired from his job by his company.
