The Supreme Court is hearing the last round of Ram janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute. A lot is happening in Ayodhya. It looks like something big is about to happen. During the hearing, counsel for the Muslim side, Rajiv Dhawan said, “I have noticed that all the questions during the hearing are being raised toward the Muslim side.” No questions were asked from the Hindu side. Ramlala’s lawyer CS Vaidyanathan objected, saying it was wrong, baseless. Rajiv Dhawan said- I am not saying any baseless thing. It is my responsibility to answer all the questions on the bench.
Arguing, Rajiv Dhawan said that we (Muslim side) want Ayodhya like December 5, 1992, which was before the Babri Masjid demolition. On behalf of the Muslim side in the Supreme Court, Rajiv Dhawan said that we cannot always think that 1992 would happen again. Monday is the last day for the Muslim side to plead in the court. The hearing of this case is to end on October 17, the argument of the Muslim side is to end on October 14. The Hindu side has to make its arguments on 15-16 October.
Replying to Justice Chandrachud’s question, Dhawan said that the records of 1886 make it clear whose land belongs to whom. The point is that we have the right. When the question of authority was raised on behalf of the Hindus in 1886, the magistrate dismissed that civil suit. But after the race judi was cut, it was again claimed after illegal possession. Further, Rajiv Dhawan says that this Waqf property is from the time of British and Hindus forcibly took illegal possession.
Dhawan said that there is not a single document that proves that there was a hold of Hindus earlier. We changed our demand after the demolition on 6 December 1992 and our demand was that we should have the status of 5 December 1992 in the Masjid should be in the same structure and the same condition, we should be handed over to the masjid.
What happened in Ayodha on 6 December 1992
When the Bharatiya Janata Party took out the Ram Mandir Rath Yatra, politics in the country was heated. On 6 December 1992 amid heavy security in Ayodhya, crowds led by BJP leaders were going towards the structure of the Babri Masjid, although the police managed to stop them in the first attempt. But suddenly in the afternoon a large group of ‘Kar Sevaks’ started climbing the wall of the Masjid. Kar Sevaks entered the mosque in a crowd of millions and took the mosque in no time. After that, the whole country saw what happened and became history.
Meanwhile, the district administration of Ayodhya has been alerted in view of the possibility of hearing in Ayodhya by October 17. Section 144 has been imposed in the district till December 10 for a possible decision before November 17. The injunction has been implemented till 10 December. 200 schools of Ayodhya are being closed. TV debates will not be allowed in Ayodhya. The deployment of the police force has been increased. Amidst all this, the number of devotees coming to Ayodhya has also increased.
