The peasant movement that has reached the threshold of Delhi is getting support from every section. Where former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal returned the Padma Vibhushan. So now the process of returning the award has started. In this episode, Punjabi singer and actor Harbhajan Mann has also refused to accept the ‘Shiromani Punjabi’ award of the state government.
Let us tell you that on Thursday, the Punjab Language Department had selected Mann for this award. The department had announced the Sahitya Ratna and Shiromani awards for 18 different categories of literature and art. Mann said on Twitter that though he expressed his gratitude to the government for being elected. But he is politely turning down the Shiromani Singer Award of the language department. For this he supported the farmers’ movement against the agricultural law.
Mann said that the love of the people is the biggest reward in my career, and from now on, the attention and efforts of all of us should be dedicated to the peaceful protest of the farmers. Along with Mann many Punjabi singers and artists are supporting the farmers’ movement. Singer Mann also attended the farmers’ demonstrations at the Delhi border. Mann said in another tweet that you have to be there to experience there energy, enthusiasm and optimism. In unfavorable conditions they smile and share moments of happiness.
