Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a retired cricket player of the Indian team. He was the captain of the Indian Cricket Team from 2007 to 2017. Dhoni is a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper. Under his leadership, the Indian team has won ICC Test World Cup, ACC Asia Cup, ODI, and many other trophies over the years. He is arguably the best captain & wicketkeeper ever. He is also the captain of Chennai Superkings, one of the most successful teams in IPL.

Ranchi is the birthplace of Dhoni & came from a Hindu family. His father, Pan Singh & mother, Devaki Devi moved to Ranchi just before the birth of Dhoni. His father was a government worker and was working as a pump operator. Initially, Dhoni was playing football in the position of goalkeeper, but his coach wanted him to be a cricketer.
The Career of Ms. Dhoni
In 1998, Dhoni was selected for the Central Coal Fields Limited cricket team. He started playing for the Bihar cricket team in 1999-2000 at Ranji Trophy. Dhoni completed that season by scoring 283 runs in 5 matches. He scored his first century there only. He has then selected for India A team for a tour of Kenya & Zimbabwe. Dhoni played very well and ended the tour with 4 stumpings & 7 catches. In his next tournament, he scored a half-century against Pakistan. He was picked for the international team for ODI matches but that season didn’t go well for Dhoni. Although he break the dry spell and scored 148 in one of the next matches. After that, he became a well-recognized player.

He was charged with tax evasion. He registered his Hummer H2, as a Mahindra Scorpio to save the registration money. He has also been charged for spot-fixing. He was under the surveillance of the Supreme Court for these crimes. His team, Chennai Superkings was also banned from playing in IPL for 2 years.
