In Uttar Pradesh, an incident that has embarrassed the police has come to light. A policeman was molesting women and when a man protested against his act, he shot him.
The injured man Kishanlal has been admitted to a hospital in varanasi for treatment.
The accused policeman has been identified as Sarvesh, currently posted in Gonda district. The incident took place in Kamalpur village on Tuesday when an drunked policeman allegedly molested women.
The women were going to attend a wedding ceremony in the village. The policeman and his friends were drinking alcohol in the street and made objectionable remarks on the women. When Kishanlal objected, the quarrel began. The dispute turned violent and the policeman shot Kishanlal.
A police spokesman said that the police arrested three people, including a policeman, a case has been registered against them under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code(IPC).
