Kamal Hassan: Father, Early Life & Career

Kamal Hassan is an Indian actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. He has several Awards for his contribution to the film industry

He is the recipient of the Padma Bhushan (1990), the third-highest civilian award in India, for his contributions to Indian cinema.

Early Life :

Kamal was born on 7 April 1954 to a Tamil Iyengar family in Paramakudi . His father was D.srinivasan, a Freedom fighter, and a lawyer, and His mother was Rajalakshmi, a housewife. He has two brothers and one sister . He did his primary education in Paramakudi and then moved to Chennai,as his brothers pursued higher education . He continued his education in Santhome, Chennai, and was encouraged by his father to learn arts and films .

Career :

Kamal started his career as a child artist in Kalathur Kannamma, which acclaimed him for Rashtrapati Award, for his role. He debuted in the Malayalam film industry with Kannum Karalum (1962). Upon his father’s encouragement, he joined a repertory company (T. K. S. Nataka Sabha) headed by T. K. Shanmugam. In the meanwhile, he continued his education at the Hindu Higher Secondary School in Triplicane. His time with the theatre company shaped his interest in craft and kindled his interest in makeup

After a 7-year break, he appeared in small rollers as a dance choreographer, and make some brief appearances. After that, he collaborated with some big directors, directed some, and gave commercial success to South Indian films.

OFF-SCREEN CAREER

He is the first actor to covert his fans club to welfare organizations.
They help to organize blood-eye donations and donate educational items to people in needy
He was even nominated by our Prime minister Narendra Modi for Swacch Bharat .
He never acts in commercials, and if he ever did he pledged to donate the money to HIV kids.
He had totally acted in 232 films to date.
He has his own political party MAKKAL NEEDHI MAIAM

Personal Life :

In 1978, at age 24, Hasan married dancer Vani Ganapathy. They got divorced 10 years later From 2005 till 2016, Hasan was in a relationship with actress Gautam his frequent co-star during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Gautami and Kamal Hassan later ended their relationship
