The Meteorological Department said on Monday that the night temperature in North India will fall by three to five degrees Celsius in the next two-three days. The Meteorological Department said that the outbreak of cold could increase further in Punjab, while Haryana, Chandigarh and North West Rajasthan will also remain cold. Due to the fall in temperature, fog has started appearing in most parts of North India.
The Meteorological Department released the winter forecast for December-February last month, saying that the night temperature would be below normal.
In the next two-three days the minimum temperature in intermediate and eastern India will not change much. After that the temperature will drop by two to four degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department said that between 16 to 18 December, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep may receive rain.
