The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday condemned incidents of racial abuse against Indian players by spectators during the third Test against Australia in Sydney and sought a report of action from the cricket board of the host country.
On Sunday during the second session of the fourth day Indian players gathered in the middle of the field when Siraj, standing at the square leg boundary complained of being abused.
After this the security personnel went to the spectator gallery and started looking for the person who was abusing and then a group of spectators were asked to leave the stand. The Australian Cricket Board has apologized for this.
ICC released a statement in which they said that The International Cricket Council strongly condemns incidents of racism during the ongoing third Test match between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground and offers all necessary support to Cricket Australia in its investigation .
ICC CEO Manu Sahani reiterated that the ICC adopts a zero-tolerance policy against any form of discrimination.
Team India captain Virat Kohli has also strongly condemned the incident. Kohli has tweeted and expressed his anger in the matter.
In a tweet Kohli said Racial comments are not acceptable at all. The boundary line is actually being crossed by a lot of rowdy behaviour. It is sad to see this happening on the field.
