On January 20, 2025, the Narsee Monjee Finance and Investment Cell (NMFIC) organized the Launch Event of Project Udaan: A World Record attempt for the Largest Entrepreneurship Development Drive in a Single Day, set to take place on February 3, 2025. The launch event for the same took place at the New Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering’s Small Seminar Hall. The event was Project Udaan aims to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in students across Mumbai. The initiative focuses on equipping students with the mindset, tools, and resources to transform their entrepreneurial ideas into impactful ventures.
The highlight of the evening was the presence of Mr. Anil Singhvi, Managing Editor of Zee Business and a pioneer in financial journalism. Mr. Singhvi unveiled Project Udaan and delivered an inspiring speaking session, moderated by Siddhant Gupta, founder of SkillsOn. During his session, Mr. Singhvi shared his remarkable journey from being a Chartered Accountant to becoming a leader in business journalism.
He provided valuable insights on the sectors that India should focus on, emphasizing that the country is poised for explosive growth over the next decade, with sectors like financialization, cyber security, and renewable energy gaining prominence. He stressed the importance of staying grounded, continuously learning, and updating oneself, as the market cannot be timed or controlled.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship and investing in creating wealth. He presented two key takeaways: becoming an entrepreneur and starting one’s own business or regularly investing with conviction in other businesses with potential.
The event also featured a compelling Panel Discussion on “The Evolution of Start-up Culture,” comprising Avik Ashar, Principal at Artha Venture Fund, and Saurav Dash, Regional Business Head at Credila. The speakers shared valuable resources, answered audience questions, and provided insights on the current start-up ecosystem.
