Aditya Thackeray is the first member of the Thackeray family to contest elections. Aditya is in the fray from Worli assembly seat in central Mumbai. Aditya Thackeray is son of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray , who is ending a thackray family tradition in this assembly election. The tradition is that no member of the Thackeray family ever contests any form of election. 29-year-old Aditya Thackeray’s political career began 9 years ago. At the 2010 annual Dussehra rally, Aditya’s grandfather Bal Thackeray made a formal entry into the Shiv Sena holding a sword in his hand. He was then made the head of Yuva Sena, the youth wing of the party. Soon Aditya started getting involved in important matters related to the party. In the 2019 assembly elections, Aditya also had the responsibility of campaigning on his shoulder. The Shiv Sena is projecting him as the face of CM.
