What is Carnage?
It was Marvel artist David Michelinie and Spider-Man comic book artist Mark Bagley that created the Spider-Man villain known as Carnage. Carnage originally debuted in the comic book story of “The Amazing Spider-Man” in April of 1992. It appeared in issues 361 through 365.The character became popular, and he even had his own video game, Maximum Carnage, to feature in.
Carnage is a member of an alien parasitic race known as Symbiotes, just like Venom. Not only does he share a bloodline with Venom, but he is also the spawn of Venom, which gives him greater strength than Venom. Carnage has had several different human hosts in the comics, but the most popular is Cletus Kasady, and that may be why they decided to base the movie on that character.

An officially announced role in the Venom sequel (Venom: Let There Be Carnage) has been revealed, as Stephen Graham, a frequent acting partner of actor/creator Tom Hardy, will portray Patrick Mulligan in the film.
