Aditi Rao Hydari is an Indian actress. She was born on 28 October 1986 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. She can be seen in non-Hindi movies as well. She has made to several minor roles as a supporting actress. She was born to Ehsaan Hydari and Vidya Rao. Her father was a preacher of Islam, and her mother was Hindu by birth but a preacher of Buddhism. Her great-grandfather was the former prime minister of Hyderabad state in colonial India. She is the grand-niece of the former governor of Assam.
Interestingly, Kiran Rao (ex-wife of Amir Khan) is her maternal cousin. She belongs to a royal bloodline. Her parents parted ways when she was just two. Her father remarried, but her mother did not.
CAREER
She started her career as a classical dancer and was recognized for her dancing skills. In 2006, she debuted in a Malayalam film. Later, she appeared in many Hindi movies but was always cast as a supporting actor. She made it public that she wanted to appear as a protagonist and not always as a supporting actor. She has done many movies in Hindi cinema like “Wazir”, “Fitoor”, “Bhoomi”, “Rockstar”, “Boss’, “Delhi-6”, “Guddu Rangeela’, “Ajeeb Dastaans’ (Netflix movie), “London, New York, Paris’, “Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3′, “Murder 3′, “Dhobi Ghat’, “Khoobsurat”, and many more. She also did a suspenseful movie, “The Girl on The Train’.
Some of her Tamil movies are ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’, ‘Psycho’, and ‘Hey Sinamika’. Telugu movies are “V”, “Maha Samudram’, “Sammohanam”, etc.

In 2012, she won Screen Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (female) for the movie “Ye Saali Zindagi’. In 2017, she won 3 awards: Asia Vision Award for the category Best Actress for the Tamil movie “Kaatru Veliyidai’, South Indian International Movie Awards for the category Best Debut Actress for the Tamil movie Kaatru Veliyidai and the Zee Cine Awards Telugu for the category Best Debut Female for the same movie. Also, in 2019, she won the International Indian Film Academy Award for the category of Best Supporting Actor Female for the movie ‘Padmaavat’.
